The Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra (OSLP) is a professional ensemble whose history dates back to 1973. Since its reactivation in 1999, it has established itself as one of the leading orchestral institutions in the Canary Islands, thanks to the artistic quality of its productions, its versatility, and its ongoing commitment to innovation.
Its activity covers a wide range of styles and formats, performing the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary repertoires with the highest level of precision, as well as opera, zarzuela, chamber music, and large-scale symphonic and choral productions.
In parallel, the OSLP has developed a strong line of original productions that fuse symphonic music with pop, rock, jazz, folk, and other contemporary genres, creating innovative proposals capable of connecting with diverse audiences and expanding the boundaries of the traditional symphonic format. Rather than merely performing concerts, the orchestra creates, produces, and develops its own artistic projects, adapting seamlessly to any stage format. This flexibility has made it a benchmark ensemble for large-scale musical developments.
Throughout its career, the OSLP has shared the stage with prestigious national and international soloists and artists, collaborating with figures such as Iván Ayón Rivas, Jessica Pratt, Ludovic Tézier, Abraham Cupeiro, Sarah Willis, Vanessa Goikoetxea, Celso Albelo, Jorge de León, Isabel Pantoja, Concha Buika, Sole Giménez, Los Gofiones, Los Sabandeños, and Benito Cabrera, among many others, as well as participating in festivals, recording projects, and audiovisual productions.
The orchestra has built a unique artistic identity by combining symphonic tradition with new musical and stage languages. Among its signature productions are Los Gofiones Sinfónico, Paradise Sinfónico, Canciones que saben a Mar, Salsa Sinfónica, México Sinfónico, Bach Eterno, Tiempos del Alisio, the Popular New Year’s Concert, and the Music in the Convent Festival—projects that reflect an artistic line characterized by creativity, interpretative excellence, and a constant search for new audience experiences.
Today, the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra is widely recognized for its artistic excellence, building a bridge between symphonic tradition and the musical expressions of the 21st century, and consolidating itself as a reference in the production of innovative symphonic projects both within and outside the Canary Islands.
