Serge Haroche is a Nobel Prize–winning physicist renowned for his groundbreaking experiments in quantum physics. Awarded the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics, he pioneered methods to observe and control individual quantum particles, allowing scientists to measure fragile quantum states without destroying them. Haroche’s work opened new paths in quantum optics and quantum information science. He is Professor Emeritus at the Collège de France in Paris and has held leading roles in major scientific institutions, including serving as Administrator of the Collège de France and President of the European Physical Society. His research has profoundly advanced our understanding of the quantum world and the foundations of modern physics.
