Mar Gómez holds a PhD Cum Laude and a degree in Physical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in Atmospheric Physics. She has two master's degrees, one in Meteorology and Geophysics and the other in Renewable Energy and Environment. For four years, she participated in a research project at the Complutense University as a climatology specialist. Currently, she works as the meteorological director at eltiempo.es and is a key collaborator for both international and national media on climate matters. She has presented science outreach programs and weather information and actively collaborates with various significant television programs in Spain and Latin America. Mar is the most followed Spanish meteorologist on social media, with a community of over half a million people interested in physics, astrophysics, and meteorology. She is one of the most sought-after speakers in Spain, with notable presentations at The International Climate Change Conference, the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25), and her participation in the United Nations for Arctic protection. She was awarded the 2024 Best Science Content Creator and has published three books: "How Raindrops Resemble Hamburger Buns" (2021), "Weather-Sensitive: How Weather Affects Physical and Mental Health" (2023), and "Drop by Drop: The Great Journey of Water" (2024), aimed at children. Her podcast "Hidden Planet" has tens of thousands of subscribers and has been a finalist for several awards.
