Flangr is a Chilean astro-pop band led by Joaquín Macaya, known for its innovative approach to music by incorporating sounds from space. Formed in the early 2020s, Flangr collaborates with the ALMA Observatory, using real electromagnetic oscillations captured from space to create their unique soundscapes. This collaboration has made them pioneers in blending astronomy with music, producing tracks that resonate with both scientific curiosity and artistic creativity. He is the first artist to make pop rock music with sounds from space thanks to the ALMA Observatory, which has allowed him to tour the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. FLANGR is a member of the Chilean Space Association and belongs to the Converse Chile community. Flangr’s mission is to bring the wonders of space closer to the public through their music, making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging.
