Javier Santaolalla was born in Burgos and brewed in the Canary Islands. He studied Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and, with time to spare, simultaneously pursued a degree in Physics, graduating from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he also completed a master’s in Fundamental Physics. In between, and without using any quantum powers, he did an internship at the French Space Agency (CNES) in Toulouse, researching for the Galileo project. He later earned a PhD in Particle Physics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), participating in the discovery of the Higgs boson. Javier has become one of the most popular science communicators in the Spanish language, not only in Spain but also in Latin American countries like Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina. He is the author of the YouTube channel “Date un Vlog” with 4 million subscribers and the science TikTok account @jasantaolalla with 4.8 million followers. He has published seven books, presented science programs on television, and is the director of the Amautas platform. You can also see him on stages around the world with his shows and lecture tours. In his latest project, “El club de la Tusa,” he combines science, literature, and music for the delight of the most curious minds.
