Starlight Foundation is a non-profit organization created by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) and Consultora Corporación 5, dedicated to promoting astronomy and managing the Starlight movement. It aims to protect and value the night sky as a vital resource and intangible heritage of humanity. The foundation coordinates various projects and activities to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the starry sky, which is essential for both scientific and cultural heritage and the survival of many species. Supported by UNESCO, the International Astronomical Union (IAU), and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the Starlight Foundation works globally to advocate for dark sky preservation.
